Formerly owned by Peter Green, Greeny was used throughout his tenure with Fleetwood Mac and was later sold to Gary Moore, who played it for 30 years as a solo artist and with Thin Lizzy. Now owned by Kirk Hammett, Greeny has passed through the hands of three of rock’s most iconic guitarists. The distinctive sound is partly thanks to the neck pickup’s reversed polarity in the ‘out-of-phase’ middle switch position. Gibson’s Kirk Hammett Greeny Les Paul Standard was inspired by the iconic original.
